I love porcelain sinks because they look very stylish especially when they are in a bathroom, however, there is one downfall to having a porcelain sink – if you don’t clean it a few times a week, it gets covered in dirt, dust, hair, toothpaste, and all sorts of other impurities and stains that are extremely visible due to the colour of the sink.
The good news is that your white porcelain sink can be cleaned very easily and you don’t need to waste too much time on it. And because I love using natural ingredients, today I am going to show you how I clean my sink – with only household items, no fancy cleaners! I love porcelain because there aren’t too many ingredients you have to avoid using when cleaning and a porcelain sink won’t become damaged easily!
So without further ado, here is how I clean my porcelain sink!
I use two different cleaning methods
– The First Method: lemon juice and baking soda
This is my favourite method for cleaning my porcelain sink – it’s easy, cheap, and effective!
Start off with rinsing the sink then sprinkle baking soda on the surface.
Then grab a cloth and scrub the sink. That way you will get rid of any stains!
Continue with cutting a lemon in half then grab one piece and rub it on your sink. Gently squeeze so the lemon juice can cover the sink. Then just let it sit for half an hour before you rinse with water!
– The Second Method: Liquid Dish Soap and Vinegar
If you can get past the smell of vinegar and you are used to using it – this method will be perfect for you. I prefer the first one because I hate the smell of vinegar.
Mix water and liquid dish soap in a bowl then dip a sponge in the solution and wipe the sink with it. Then rinse with water.
Continue with filling the sink with hot water and white vinegar. Let it sit for half an hour then drain the mixture.
Continue with dipping another sponge in the mixture of liquid dish soap and water and wipe once again. Finish off with rinsing!
